Overview of the medicine
Alacot 0.1% Eye Drop contains Olopatadine, an ophthalmic antihistamine and mast cell stabilizer, used to relieve ocular itching and redness associated with allergic conjunctivitis.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
One drop in each affected eye twice a day (approximately 6 to 8 hours apart).
Elderly
No specific dosage adjustment is required for elderly patients.

How to Take
For topical ophthalmic use only. Tilt head back, pull down the lower eyelid to form a pouch, and instill one drop into the conjunctival sac. Close eye gently. Avoid touching the dropper tip to the eye or any other surface.
Mechanism of Action
Olopatadine acts as a selective H1-receptor antagonist, blocking histamine's effects. It also inhibits the release of histamine from mast cells, thereby reducing allergic symptoms like itching and redness in the eyes.
