Alda DS is a combination antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
1 tablet twice daily for 10-14 days
Elderly
Reduced dose may be necessary based on renal function
Renal_impairment
Dose adjustments are required based on creatinine clearance
How to Take
Take with a full glass of water. Can be taken with or without food.
Mechanism of Action
Sulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprim work synergistically to inhibit bacterial dihydrofolate reductase and dihydropteroate synthase, respectively, thereby blocking folate synthesis.
