Alervil 15 mg Syrup is an antihistamine used to relieve allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, and itching. It contains Desloratadine, a non-drowsy formulation.

Dosage
Adults
5 mg (approximately 3.3 mL of syrup) once daily
Elderly
No specific dose adjustment required, but caution with renal/hepatic impairment. Typically 5 mg (approximately 3.3 mL of syrup) once daily.

Initial dose of 5 mg (approximately 3.3 mL of syrup) every other day for moderate to severe impairment.
How to Take
May be taken with or without food. Administer orally using a measuring spoon or oral syringe.
Mechanism of Action
Desloratadine, the active metabolite of loratadine, is a non-sedating, long-acting histamine antagonist with selective peripheral H1-receptor antagonist activity. It inhibits the release of histamine from mast cells and reduces inflammatory mediators.
