Dexlansoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that decreases the amount of acid produced in the stomach.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
30 mg once daily for 4-8 weeks for healing erosive esophagitis; 30 mg once daily for maintenance.
Elderly
No specific dosage adjustment is necessary.
Renal_impairment
No dosage adjustment is necessary for patients with renal impairment.
How to Take
Swallow the capsule whole with water. Can be taken with or without food.
Mechanism of Action
Dexlansoprazole inhibits the H+/K+-ATPase enzyme system at the secretory surface of the gastric parietal cell.
