- History of tendon disorders or rupture associated with fluoroquinolone use.
- Patients with epilepsy or other seizure disorders.
- Children and adolescents (under 18 years of age).
Drug Interactions
Warfarin
Alinofloxacin may enhance the anticoagulant effect of warfarin, requiring close monitoring of INR.
Corticosteroids
Concomitant use may increase the risk of tendon disorders, including tendon rupture.
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)
May increase the risk of CNS stimulation and convulsive seizures when used with fluoroquinolones.
Antacids (containing magnesium, aluminum, sucralfate)
May significantly reduce the absorption of Alinofloxacin. Take Alinofloxacin at least 2 hours before or 6 hours after these agents.
Storage
Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
Overdose
In case of overdose, symptomatic and supportive treatment should be initiated. Gastric lavage and activated charcoal may be considered to reduce absorption. Hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis are not effective in removing Alinofloxacin.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Pregnancy Category C. Use only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Not recommended during breastfeeding as Alinofloxacin is excreted into breast milk and may cause adverse effects in the infant.
