Alkasol is used to treat metabolic acidosis, dyspepsia, and urinary alkalinization.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
1-2 tablets dissolved in water, up to 4 times a day.
Elderly
Use lower end of adult dose range.
Renal_impairment
Use with caution; dosage adjustment may be required.
How to Take
Dissolve the tablet in a glass of water and drink immediately.
Mechanism of Action
Sodium bicarbonate neutralizes gastric acid and increases plasma bicarbonate, buffering excess hydrogen ion concentration.
