Overview of the medicine
Allyol 5 mg Tablet is used for the short-term relief of anxiety symptoms, panic disorders, and insomnia. It belongs to a class of medicines known as anxiolytics.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
General anxiety: 0.5-1 mg two to three times daily. Max 4 mg/day. Insomnia: 1-2 mg at bedtime.
Elderly
Lower doses starting from 0.25 mg two times daily. Max 2 mg/day.
Renal_impairment
No specific dose adjustment for mild to moderate impairment, but caution advised. Consider lower doses for severe impairment.
How to Take
Take orally with water, with or without food. Do not crush or chew the tablet.
Mechanism of Action
Allyzepam enhances the effect of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in the brain, which is a neurotransmitter that inhibits nerve activity. This leads to a calming effect on the brain and central nervous system.
