Overview of the medicine
Anin-Plus 50 mg Tablet contains Anin Hydrochloride, an antidepressant medication used to treat major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Initial dose 50 mg once daily, may be increased up to 200 mg daily depending on response. Administer with food.
Elderly
Initial dose 25 mg once daily, slowly titrate up to 50 mg daily. Use with caution due to increased sensitivity.
Renal_impairment
No dosage adjustment typically required for mild to moderate impairment. Use with caution in severe impairment.
How to Take
Take orally, once daily, preferably with food to reduce gastrointestinal upset. Do not crush or chew the tablet.
Mechanism of Action
Anin Hydrochloride works by selectively inhibiting the reuptake of serotonin in the brain, thereby increasing the concentration of serotonin in the synaptic clefts. This leads to an improvement in mood and a reduction in anxiety symptoms.

Onset
Therapeutic effects may take 2-4 weeks to become apparent.
Excretion
Excreted primarily in urine (metabolites) and feces.
Half life
Approximately 24-30 hours.
Absorption
Well absorbed orally, peak plasma concentration reached in 4-8 hours.
Metabolism
Extensively metabolized in the liver, primarily via CYP2D6 and CYP3A4 enzymes.
Side Effects
Contraindications
- •Hypersensitivity to Anin Hydrochloride or any excipients
- •Concomitant use with MAOIs (Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors) or within 14 days of discontinuing MAOIs
- •Concomitant use with Pimozide
Drug Interactions
MAOIs
Risk of serotonin syndrome (hyperthermia, rigidity, myoclonus, autonomic instability, mental status changes).
NSAIDs
Increased risk of bleeding.
Warfarin
May increase anticoagulant effect, monitor INR.
Storage
Store below 30°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
Overdose
Symptoms include somnolence, nausea, vomiting, tachycardia, tremor, agitation, dizziness, and rarely, seizures or serotonin syndrome. Treatment is supportive and symptomatic; maintain airway, monitor cardiac and vital signs. Activated charcoal may be considered.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Use during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Small amounts may be excreted in breast milk; use with caution in breastfeeding mothers.
