Antif DS is an antifungal medication used to treat various fungal infections.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
150 mg as a single oral dose for vaginal candidiasis; 50-400 mg daily for other infections
Elderly
Dosage may need to be adjusted based on renal function
Renal_impairment
Dosage adjustment recommended if creatinine clearance is <50 mL/min
How to Take
Can be taken with or without food. Swallow the capsule whole with water.
Mechanism of Action
Fluconazole inhibits the fungal cytochrome P450 enzyme, which is essential for ergosterol synthesis, a component of the fungal cell membrane.
