Description
Overview of the medicine
Apremig ODT is a phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4) inhibitor used for the treatment of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
30 mg twice daily, starting with a titration schedule (10 mg once daily on day 1, 10 mg twice daily on day 2, 20 mg once daily on day 3, 20 mg twice daily on day 4, 30 mg once daily on day 5, and 30 mg twice daily from day 6 onwards).
Elderly
No specific dosage adjustment is required for elderly patients.
Renal_impairment
In patients with severe renal impairment (CrCl <30 mL/min), the dosage should be reduced to 30 mg once daily.
How to Take
Place the tablet in the mouth and allow it to disintegrate. Can be taken with or without food.

Apremilast works by inhibiting PDE4, an enzyme that controls the production of inflammatory mediators within cells.

Clinical effect typically observed within 2-4 weeks.
Excretion
Approximately 58% excreted in the feces and 39% in the urine.
