Dosage
Adults
Patients weighing 40 kg to <80 kg: 40 mg single oral dose. Patients weighing <40 kg: 20 mg single oral dose. For this 20mg tablet, it's typically for those <40 kg.
Elderly

How to Take

Mechanism of Action
Baloxavir marboxil is a prodrug that is converted to baloxavir, which inhibits the cap-dependent endonuclease activity of the influenza virus polymerase acidic (PA) protein. This action prevents viral gene transcription, thereby inhibiting influenza virus replication.
