Overview of the medicine
C-2 is a second-generation antihistamine used to relieve symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergies, as well as chronic urticaria.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
5-10 mg orally once daily, depending on severity of symptoms.
Elderly
Initiate with 5 mg orally once daily; adjust based on renal function.
Renal_impairment
Reduce dosage to 5 mg every other day for moderate impairment; contra-indicated in severe impairment.
How to Take
C-2 can be taken with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
Mechanism of Action
C-2 selectively antagonizes peripheral H1-receptors, thereby inhibiting the effects of histamine and reducing allergic symptoms like itching, sneezing, and runny nose.
