Cabanib (Cabozantinib) is a kinase inhibitor indicated for various types of cancer. It targets multiple receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs) involved in tumor growth, metastasis, and angiogenesis.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
MTC/HCC/DTC: 60 mg orally once daily. RCC: 60 mg orally once daily (dose adjustments for adverse reactions may be required).
Elderly
No specific dosage adjustment required based on age alone.
Renal_impairment
No dosage adjustment for mild to moderate impairment. Not studied in severe renal impairment.
How to Take
Take orally with or without food. Do not eat for at least 2 hours before and 1 hour after taking Cabanib. Swallow capsules whole. Do not open, crush, or chew capsules.
Mechanism of Action
Cabozantinib inhibits the tyrosine kinase activity of MET, VEGFR1, VEGFR2, VEGFR3, AXL, RET, ROS1, TYRO3, MER, KIT, TRKB, and FLT3. These kinases are involved in oncogenesis, metastasis, tumor angiogenesis, and the maintenance of the tumor microenvironment.
