Capmaxen 200 mg Tablet is a macrolide-like antibiotic used to treat various bacterial infections, including respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and some sexually transmitted infections.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Typically 200 mg once daily for 7-10 days, or as directed by physician based on infection severity.
Elderly
Similar to adult dosage; however, monitoring of renal and hepatic function is advised.
Renal_impairment
No dosage adjustment needed for mild to moderate renal impairment; use with caution in severe cases.
How to Take
Capmaxen can be taken orally, with or without food. It is recommended to take the tablet whole with a glass of water.
Mechanism of Action
Capmaxen inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, thereby interfering with translocation of peptides. This action leads to a bacteriostatic or bactericidal effect depending on the concentration and bacterial species.
