Take orally with a glass of water, preferably with or after food to minimize gastrointestinal discomfort. Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.

Carticel-Plus acts by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, which are responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are lipid compounds that mediate pain, inflammation, and fever. By inhibiting COX enzymes, Carticel-Plus reduces prostaglandin production, thereby alleviating pain and inflammation.

• •Hypersensitivity to Carticel-Plus or any component of the formulation
• •History of asthma, urticaria, or allergic-type reactions after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs
• •Active peptic ulcer or gastrointestinal bleeding
• •Severe renal or hepatic impairment
• •Third trimester of pregnancy
• •Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) surgery peri-operative pain

Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

Symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, lethargy, drowsiness. More severe symptoms can include gastrointestinal bleeding, acute renal failure, coma, and convulsions. Management involves symptomatic and supportive care. Gastric lavage and activated charcoal may be considered if recent ingestion.

Pregnancy Category C in early pregnancy, D in the third trimester. Avoid use in the third trimester due to potential adverse effects on the fetus and prolonged labor. Use during lactation only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the infant, as NSAIDs can be excreted in breast milk.
