Ceprocon is a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
250 mg to 750 mg orally twice daily, depending on the infection.
Elderly
Dosage adjustment may be necessary based on renal function.
Renal_impairment
Reduced dosage required for patients with creatinine clearance < 50 mL/min.
How to Take
Take with or without food. Do not chew or crush tablets. Complete the full course of treatment.
Mechanism of Action
Ceprocon inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination, leading to bacterial cell death.

Side Effects
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Ceprocon or other fluoroquinolones
- Concomitant administration with Tizanidine
- History of tendon disorders related to quinolone use
Drug Interactions
Warfarin
May increase anticoagulant effect.
Tizanidine
Contraindicated due to increased tizanidine concentration and side effects.
Theophylline
May increase theophylline levels and toxicity.
Antacids containing aluminum or magnesium
Decrease absorption of Ceprocon.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, below 30°C. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
Overdose
Symptoms may include renal toxicity, crystalluria, and CNS disturbances. Treatment is symptomatic and supportive, including gastric lavage and adequate hydration.

Generally not recommended during pregnancy and lactation due to potential risks to the fetus/infant. Use only if potential benefits outweigh risks.
