Cipzin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
250-750 mg orally twice daily, depending on infection type and severity.
Elderly
Similar to adults, but consider renal function.
Renal_impairment
Dose adjustment required based on creatinine clearance.
How to Take
Can be taken with or without food. Avoid taking with dairy products or antacids.
Mechanism of Action
Ciprofloxacin inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes necessary for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination.
