How to Take
Insert the test strip into the Contour Plus meter. Apply a small blood sample (approx. 0.6 µL) to the tip of the strip. The meter will display the result in a few seconds.
Mechanism of Action
The Contour Plus test strips use a flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD)-dependent glucose dehydrogenase (GDH) enzyme and an electrochemical method. When blood is applied to the strip, glucose in the blood reacts with the enzyme, producing an electrical current. The meter measures this current and converts it into a blood glucose reading.
