Dakrin 5 mg Tablet contains Desloratadine, an antihistamine that provides rapid relief from allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes, and hives. It is a non-drowsy formulation.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
One 5 mg tablet once daily.
Elderly
No dosage adjustment generally required.
Renal_impairment
For severe renal impairment, consider administering every other day.
How to Take
For oral use. Can be taken with or without food.
Mechanism of Action
Desloratadine is a potent, selective, peripherally acting histamine H1-receptor antagonist. It inhibits the release of histamine from mast cells and basophils.

Storage

Overdose
In case of overdose, symptomatic and supportive treatment should be initiated. Desloratadine is not effectively removed by hemodialysis.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Pregnancy Category C. Use only if potential benefit justifies potential risk to the fetus. Not recommended during breastfeeding as Desloratadine is excreted in breast milk.
