Description
Overview of the medicine
Deltora 10 mg Tablet contains Deltorafen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for the relief of pain, inflammation, and fever. It works by reducing substances in the body that cause pain and inflammation.
Uses & Indications
Dosage

Elderly
Lower doses may be required. Start with 5 mg 2 times daily and adjust according to response and tolerability.
Renal_impairment
Use with caution. Dosage reduction may be necessary. Avoid in severe renal impairment.
How to Take
Take Deltora 10 mg Tablet orally, preferably with food or milk to minimize gastrointestinal upset. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
Mechanism of Action
Deltorafen inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, which are responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are mediators of inflammation, pain, and fever. By inhibiting COX enzymes, Deltorafen reduces prostaglandin production, leading to anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic effects.
Pharmacokinetics

Within 30-60 minutes.
Excretion
Mainly excreted in urine (60-70%) as metabolites and some unchanged drug, and to a lesser extent in feces (30-40%).
Half life
Approximately 4-6 hours.
Absorption
Rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, with peak plasma concentrations occurring within 1-2 hours after oral administration.
Metabolism
Primarily metabolized in the liver by cytochrome P450 enzymes (mainly CYP2C9 and CYP2C19) to inactive metabolites.
