Description
Overview of the medicine
Desolet is a combined oral contraceptive pill containing desogestrel (a progestogen) and ethinylestradiol (an estrogen), used to prevent pregnancy.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
One tablet daily at the same time for 21 consecutive days, followed by a 7-day pill-free interval. Start new pack after 7 days.
Elderly
Not indicated for post-menopausal women.

How to Take
Take orally with water, at the same time each day, with or without food.
Mechanism of Action
Suppresses ovulation, thickens cervical mucus to prevent sperm penetration, and alters the endometrium to inhibit implantation.
