Droxigel Plus 200 mg chewable tablet is a combination antacid and antiflatulent medicine used to relieve symptoms of indigestion, heartburn, acid reflux, and gas. It contains aluminum hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide to neutralize stomach acid, and simethicone to break down gas bubbles.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Chew 1-2 tablets after meals and at bedtime, or as directed by a physician. Do not exceed 8 tablets in 24 hours.
Elderly
Same as adults, but caution should be exercised in elderly patients with impaired renal function due to potential magnesium accumulation.
Renal_impairment
Use with caution. Dosage reduction may be necessary due to risk of hypermagnesemia. Consult a physician.

Mechanism of Action
Aluminum Hydroxide and Magnesium Hydroxide are antacids that work by neutralizing hydrochloric acid in the stomach, thereby increasing gastric pH. This reduces gastric irritation and pain. Simethicone is an antiflatulent agent that reduces the surface tension of gas bubbles in the gastrointestinal tract, causing them to coalesce and be more easily expelled.
