Overview of the medicine
Ecometacin 6 mg tablet is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for the relief of mild to moderate pain, fever, and inflammation.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
The usual recommended dose is 6 mg to 12 mg every 4-6 hours as needed. Do not exceed 48 mg in 24 hours.
Elderly
Lower doses may be required, and patients should be monitored for adverse effects. Initial dose should be 6 mg every 6-8 hours.
Renal_impairment
Use with caution. Dosage reduction may be necessary in patients with moderate to severe renal impairment. Consult physician.
How to Take
Take the tablet orally, preferably with food or milk, to minimize gastrointestinal upset. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water, do not chew or crush.
Mechanism of Action
Ecometacin exerts its anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic effects by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis through the reversible blockade of cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes.

Mainly excreted in the urine as metabolites, with a small portion excreted in feces.
