Overview of the medicine
Egvo-D 500 mg Tablet is an NSAID used to relieve pain, inflammation, and fever.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
1 tablet (500 mg) 1-3 times daily after meals, or as directed by a physician. Maximum daily dose is 1500 mg.
Elderly
Lower doses may be required; caution is advised due to increased risk of side effects.
Renal_impairment
Dosage adjustment may be necessary. Use with caution in patients with mild to moderate renal impairment. Contraindicated in severe renal impairment.
How to Take
Take orally with food or milk to minimize gastrointestinal upset. Swallow the tablet whole with a sufficient amount of water.
Mechanism of Action
It works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, which are involved in the synthesis of prostaglandins, mediators of pain and inflammation.

Mainly excreted via urine, with a small portion in feces.

Contraindications

Drug Interactions
Lithium
Increased plasma lithium levels.
Methotrexate
Increased methotrexate toxicity.
Diuretics and ACE inhibitors
Reduced effectiveness of these medications, potential for renal impairment.
Warfarin and other anticoagulants
Increased risk of bleeding.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C, away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
Overdose
Symptoms may include lethargy, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, and epigastric pain. Management is symptomatic and supportive, including gastric decontamination if appropriate.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Avoid in the third trimester of pregnancy due to potential for premature closure of the ductus arteriosus and renal dysfunction in the fetus. Use with caution during lactation; consult a physician.
