Overview of the medicine
Epicin 2 mg Injection is a novel antimicrobial peptide indicated for the treatment of severe bacterial infections, particularly those resistant to conventional antibiotics. It works by disrupting bacterial cell membranes.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
2 mg intravenously every 12 hours. Dosage duration depends on infection severity and patient response.
Elderly
No specific dose adjustment required unless significant renal impairment is present.
Renal_impairment
For CrCl < 30 mL/min, reduce dose to 1 mg every 12 hours. Hemodialysis patients require a supplementary dose after dialysis.
How to Take
Reconstitute the 2 mg vial with 2 mL of sterile water for injection. Administer slowly intravenously over 30 minutes. Do not administer as a rapid bolus.
Mechanism of Action
Epicin selectively targets and disrupts the integrity of bacterial cell membranes, leading to leakage of intracellular components and bacterial cell death. It exhibits broad-spectrum activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.

Contraindications
