Description
Overview of the medicine
Ezepain 120 mg Tablet is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for the relief of mild to moderate pain, inflammation, and fever.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
The usual adult dose is 120 mg to 240 mg taken once or twice daily, preferably with food. Do not exceed 480 mg in 24 hours.
Elderly
Lower doses may be required. Start with 120 mg once daily and adjust according to response and tolerability.
Renal_impairment
Use with caution. Dosage reduction may be necessary. Not recommended for severe renal impairment.
How to Take
Take Ezepain 120 mg Tablet orally with a full glass of water, preferably with food or milk to minimize gastrointestinal upset.
Mechanism of Action
Ezepain (Ezetin) inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, primarily COX-1 and COX-2, which are responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins. Prostaglandins mediate pain, inflammation, and fever. By inhibiting their synthesis, Ezetin reduces these symptoms.
Pharmacokinetics
Onset
Pain relief usually begins within 30-60 minutes.
Excretion
Mainly excreted in the urine as metabolites and conjugates, with a small portion excreted in the feces.
Half life
Approximately 2-4 hours.
Absorption
Rapidly and well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract after oral administration. Peak plasma concentrations are usually reached within 1-2 hours.
Metabolism
Primarily metabolized in the liver via cytochrome P450 enzymes into inactive metabolites.

Methotrexate
Increased methotrexate toxicity.
Other NSAIDs or Aspirin

Diuretics and ACE Inhibitors
Reduced hypotensive effects and increased risk of renal impairment.
Anticoagulants (e.g., Warfarin)
Increased risk of bleeding.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, below 30°C. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
Overdose
Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, drowsiness, dizziness, and headache. Severe overdose may lead to renal failure, respiratory depression, and coma. Management is symptomatic and supportive; there is no specific antidote. Gastric lavage or activated charcoal may be considered within an hour of ingestion.
