Description
Overview of the medicine
Freelife 10 mg Tablet is a medication used to manage anxiety disorders and mood disturbances. It works by enhancing the activity of serotonin in the brain, helping to stabilize mood and reduce feelings of anxiety and panic.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Initial dose: 10 mg once daily, preferably in the evening. May be increased to 20 mg once daily after 1-2 weeks, based on response and tolerability. Maximum recommended dose: 30 mg daily.
Elderly
A lower initial dose of 5 mg once daily is recommended, with cautious titration based on response. Maximum dose: 20 mg daily.
Renal_impairment
No dose adjustment is generally required for mild to moderate renal impairment. For severe impairment (CrCl < 30 mL/min), use with caution; consider a reduced dose.
How to Take
Take the tablet orally, with or without food. Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew. It is advisable to take it at the same time each day.
Mechanism of Action
Anxilaxol Hydrochloride selectively enhances the reuptake of serotonin (5-HT) into presynaptic neurons, leading to increased availability of serotonin in the synaptic cleft. This modulation of serotonergic neurotransmission contributes to its anxiolytic and mood-stabilizing effects.
Pharmacokinetics
Onset
Initial effects may be noticed within 1-2 weeks, full therapeutic effect within 4-6 weeks.
Excretion
Excreted primarily through the urine (approximately 60%) and feces (approximately 40%) as metabolites.
Half life
Approximately 18-24 hours.
Absorption
Rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract; peak plasma concentrations reached within 2-4 hours.
Metabolism
Extensively metabolized in the liver by cytochrome P450 enzymes (primarily CYP2D6 and CYP3A4).
