Cyclobenzaprine acts centrally as a skeletal muscle relaxant. It reduces tonic somatic motor activity influencing both alpha and gamma motor neurons, primarily at the brain stem level and by influencing the descending noradrenergic system.

• •Hypersensitivity to Cyclobenzaprine or any component of the formulation.
• •Concomitant use with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or within 14 days after discontinuing MAOI therapy.
• •Hyperthyroidism.
• •Heart failure, arrhythmias, heart block, or conduction disturbances.
• •Acute recovery phase of myocardial infarction.

Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

Symptoms of overdose may include severe drowsiness, hypothermia, tachycardia, arrhythmia, hypotension, coma, and convulsions. Management includes symptomatic and supportive care. Gastric lavage and activated charcoal may be considered.

Pregnancy Category B. Studies in animals have not shown harm to the fetus. However, there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Use only if clearly needed. It is not known whether cyclobenzaprine is excreted in human milk; use with caution in nursing mothers.
