Description
Overview of the medicine
Freshfil-1 Eye Drop is an ophthalmic lubricant used to relieve dry, irritated eyes by moistening them and providing a protective film.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Instill 1-2 drops in the affected eye(s) as needed. Frequency may vary based on individual symptoms and doctor's advice.
Elderly
Same as adult dosage. No specific adjustment required.
Renal_impairment
No dosage adjustment necessary as systemic absorption is minimal.
How to Take
For ophthalmic use only. Wash hands thoroughly before use. Tilt head back, pull down the lower eyelid to form a pouch, instill the prescribed number of drops, and then close the eye gently. Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface to avoid contamination.
Mechanism of Action
Carboxymethylcellulose forms a protective viscous film over the ocular surface, stabilizing the natural tear film, reducing surface friction, and providing lubrication.
Pharmacokinetics
Onset
Immediate upon instillation.
Excretion
Excreted via tear drainage and blinking.
Half life
Not applicable as it acts locally and is not systemically absorbed or metabolized.
Absorption
Not systemically absorbed after ocular administration due to its high molecular weight.
Metabolism
Not metabolized systemically. Partially eliminated through tear drainage.
Side Effects
Contraindications
- •Hypersensitivity to carboxymethylcellulose or any component of the formulation.
Drug Interactions
Other Ophthalmic Preparations
If using other eye medications, wait at least 5-10 minutes between administrations to avoid washing out the previous medication.
Storage
Store at room temperature (below 30°C). Do not freeze. Keep away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep out of reach of children.
Overdose
Overdose is highly unlikely with ocular administration. If accidental ingestion occurs, it is generally harmless, but seek medical advice if any symptoms develop.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Generally considered safe for use during pregnancy and lactation as systemic absorption is negligible. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
