Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
500 mg once daily for 3-7 days, depending on infection type.
Elderly
No specific dosage adjustment required, but monitor renal and hepatic function.

No dosage adjustment needed for mild to moderate impairment; use with caution in severe impairment.
How to Take
Gavipres suspension should be shaken well before use. It can be taken with or without food. Complete the full course of medication even if symptoms improve.
Mechanism of Action
Gavipres inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, thereby interfering with the translocation of peptides. This action is primarily bacteriostatic.

Increased cyclosporine levels; monitor cyclosporine concentrations.
Storage
Store powder below 30°C, away from moisture and light. Store reconstituted suspension in a refrigerator (2-8°C) or at room temperature (below 30°C) as per manufacturer's instructions, and discard after specified period.
Overdose
Symptoms of overdose include severe nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal discomfort. Treatment is symptomatic and supportive; gastric lavage may be considered.
