Description
Overview of the medicine
Gentosep-03 Cream contains Gentamicin, an aminoglycoside antibiotic, used to treat various bacterial skin infections. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Apply a thin layer to the affected skin area 2-3 times daily. Gently rub in.

How to Take
For external use only. Wash hands before and after applying the cream. Cleanse the affected area before application. Do not apply to eyes, mouth, or other mucous membranes.
Mechanism of Action
Gentamicin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit, leading to misreading of the mRNA code and premature termination of protein synthesis, ultimately causing bacterial cell death.
Pharmacokinetics

Clinical improvement usually observed within a few days.
Excretion
Primarily excreted unchanged via urine if significant systemic absorption occurs, but usually negligible after topical use.

Metabolism
Not extensively metabolized systemically after topical application.
