Description
Overview of the medicine
Hemroid 500 mg capsule is an oral medication containing a micronized purified flavonoid fraction (Diosmin and Hesperidin) used for the treatment of chronic venous insufficiency and hemorrhoidal disease. It works by improving venous tone and lymphatic drainage, reducing capillary hyperpermeability.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
For acute hemorrhoids: 3 capsules twice daily for 4 days, then 2 capsules twice daily for 3 days. For chronic venous insufficiency/chronic hemorrhoids: 1 capsule twice daily.
Elderly

Renal_impairment
No specific dosage adjustment data available; use with caution.
How to Take
Administer orally, usually with meals.
Mechanism of Action
It prolongs the vasoconstrictor effect of noradrenaline on the venous wall, increasing venous tone. It also reduces capillary permeability and improves lymphatic drainage, thereby reducing edema and inflammation associated with venous diseases.
Pharmacokinetics
Onset
Within 1-2 hours for some effects, full therapeutic effect may take days to weeks.
Excretion
Mainly via feces (about 80%), and some via urine (about 14%).
Half life
Approximately 11 hours for diosmin metabolites.
Absorption
Rapidly absorbed after oral administration, extensively metabolized.
Metabolism
Extensively metabolized in the liver to phenolic acids, predominantly by intestinal microflora.
