Hexigard 0.5-70 Hand Rub is an alcohol-based antiseptic solution for rapid hand disinfection. It contains Chlorhexidine Gluconate and Ethyl Alcohol, effective against a wide range of bacteria, viruses, and fungi.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
For hygienic hand antisepsis, apply 3 ml to clean, dry hands and rub for 30 seconds until dry. For surgical hand antisepsis, apply 5 ml to hands and forearms and rub for 3 minutes until dry.
Elderly
Same as adult dosage.
Renal_impairment
No dosage adjustment required.
How to Take
For external use only. Apply a sufficient amount to cover all surfaces of hands and rub thoroughly until dry. Do not rinse.
Mechanism of Action
Ethyl Alcohol denatures proteins and solubilizes lipids, leading to microbial cell death. Chlorhexidine Gluconate is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent that acts by disrupting bacterial cell membranes and precipitating cell contents.
