Description
Overview of the medicine
Hexisol-05-70-Hand-Rub is an antiseptic solution formulated for rapid and effective hand disinfection. It contains Chlorhexidine Gluconate and Ethyl Alcohol, providing broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against bacteria, fungi, and viruses, helping to prevent the spread of infections.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
For hygienic hand rub: Apply 3-5 mL to dry hands, rub thoroughly for 20-30 seconds until dry. For surgical hand scrub: Apply 5-10 mL, rub for 1-3 minutes (as per protocol) ensuring hands stay wet throughout, then rinse or rub until dry.
Elderly
Same as adults.
Renal_impairment
No adjustment needed (topical use).
How to Take
For external use only. Apply undiluted to dry hands. Ensure entire hand surface is covered, and rub vigorously until dry. Do not rinse with water.
Mechanism of Action
Chlorhexidine Gluconate exerts its antimicrobial effect by binding to the bacterial cell wall and disrupting its integrity, leading to leakage of intracellular components and cell death. Ethyl Alcohol denatures proteins and solubilizes lipids, rapidly inactivating microorganisms by disrupting their cell membranes and metabolic processes.
