Hunycof-075-ml-syrup is a cough syrup used to relieve cough associated with cold and flu, providing both cough suppression and expectorant action.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Adults and Children 12 years and over: 10-20 ml every 4-6 hours as needed. Do not exceed 80 ml in 24 hours.
Elderly
Same as adult dose, consult physician for specific advice, especially if other medications are being taken.
Renal_impairment
Use with caution; dose adjustment may be necessary. Consult physician for specific guidance.
How to Take
Oral administration. Use the measuring cup or spoon provided for accurate dosing. Can be taken with or without food.
Mechanism of Action
Dextromethorphan suppresses the cough reflex by acting on the cough center in the medulla. Guaifenesin thins and loosens mucus, making it easier to cough up.

Drug Interactions
MAOIs
Concurrent use may lead to serotonin syndrome, characterized by hyperthermia, rigidity, autonomic instability, and mental status changes. Avoid combination.
SSRIs and Tricyclic Antidepressants
Increased risk of serotonin syndrome due to additive serotonergic effects.
CNS Depressants (e.g., alcohol, sedatives, hypnotics)
May enhance the central nervous system depressant effects, leading to increased drowsiness or sedation.
Storage
Store below 30°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Do not refrigerate. Keep the bottle tightly closed.
Overdose
Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, drowsiness, ataxia, nystagmus, respiratory depression, and hallucinations. In severe cases, coma and seizures may occur. Seek immediate medical attention. Management includes supportive care and activated charcoal.
