Description
Overview of the medicine
Hypomer-03-022 Eye Gel is an ophthalmic lubricant used to relieve dryness, irritation, and discomfort of the eyes. It helps to moisturize the eyes and provide long-lasting comfort, mimicking natural tears.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Instill 1-2 drops into the affected eye(s) 3-4 times daily, or as needed to relieve symptoms.
Elderly
Same as adult dosage. No specific adjustment required.
Renal_impairment
No dosage adjustment required as systemic absorption is minimal.
How to Take
For ophthalmic use only. Tilt head back, pull down the lower eyelid to form a pouch, instill the gel, and close eye gently. Do not touch the tip of the dispenser to any surface to avoid contamination.
Mechanism of Action
This eye gel works by lubricating the surface of the eye, forming a protective layer that mimics natural tears and helps to retain moisture, thereby alleviating symptoms of dry eyes and reducing friction.
Pharmacokinetics
Onset
Immediate relief upon application.
Excretion
Primarily eliminated from the ocular surface via tear drainage; negligible systemic excretion.
Half life
Not applicable for topical ocular lubricants, as systemic half-life is negligible.
Absorption
Minimal systemic absorption after topical ocular administration.
Metabolism
Not systemically metabolized to a significant extent.
Side Effects
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to carboxymethylcellulose, glycerin, or any other component of the formulation
Drug Interactions
Other Ophthalmic Preparations
If using other eye drops or ointments, wait at least 5 minutes between applications. Apply Hypomer-03-022 Eye Gel last.
Storage
Store below 30°C. Do not freeze. Protect from light. Keep out of reach of children.
Overdose
Overdose is unlikely with topical ophthalmic use. If excess gel is applied, it can be rinsed out of the eye with lukewarm water. No serious systemic effects are expected.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Consult your doctor before use if pregnant or breastfeeding. Although systemic absorption is minimal and the risk is considered low, professional medical advice is recommended.
