Overview of the medicine
Immense-50 mg Tablet is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for the relief of mild to moderate pain, inflammation, and fever.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
50 mg every 4-6 hours as needed, not exceeding 200 mg in 24 hours. Take with food.
Elderly
Lower doses may be required; consult a physician. Use with caution.
Renal_impairment
Use with caution; dose adjustment may be necessary. Not recommended for severe impairment.
How to Take
Take orally with food or milk to minimize gastrointestinal upset. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not crush or chew.
Mechanism of Action
It inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, leading to reduced prostaglandin synthesis, thereby exerting analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic effects.

Side Effects
Contraindications

Drug Interactions
Lithium
Increased plasma lithium levels, leading to toxicity.
Warfarin
Increased risk of bleeding.
Methotrexate
Increased methotrexate toxicity.
Corticosteroids
Increased risk of gastrointestinal ulceration and bleeding.
ACE inhibitors/Diuretics
Reduced antihypertensive effect and increased risk of renal impairment.
Storage
Store below 30°C in a dry place, away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
Overdose
Symptoms may include drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, lethargy, and possibly gastrointestinal bleeding. Management involves symptomatic and supportive care. Gastric lavage and activated charcoal may be considered if recent ingestion. Hemodialysis is unlikely to be beneficial.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Not recommended during the third trimester of pregnancy due to potential fetal harm (premature closure of ductus arteriosus). Use with caution during early pregnancy and lactation only if clearly needed and after consulting a physician.
