Description
Overview of the medicine
Inflacin is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain, swelling, and stiffness caused by arthritis, gout, bursitis, and tendinitis. It works by blocking the body's production of certain natural substances that cause inflammation.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
25 mg two to three times daily, increased if necessary up to a maximum of 150-200 mg daily in divided doses.
Elderly
Lower initial doses recommended, closely monitor for adverse effects.
Renal_impairment
Caution advised, dose adjustment may be necessary in severe impairment.
How to Take
Orally with food or milk to minimize gastrointestinal upset.
Mechanism of Action
Inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, thereby reducing prostaglandin synthesis which mediates inflammation, pain, and fever.

Excreted primarily in urine (60%) and feces (33%).

Extensively metabolized in the liver, primarily by demethylation, debenzoylation, and glucuronidation.

- Severe renal or hepatic impairment

- Third trimester of pregnancy
- History of asthma, urticaria, or allergic-type reactions after aspirin or other NSAIDs
