Description
Overview of the medicine
Iragon 25 mg Tablet is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and heart failure. It helps to relax blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more easily.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Initial dose 25 mg once daily. May be increased to 50 mg if necessary, based on patient response.
Elderly
No dosage adjustment generally required, but close monitoring is recommended.
Renal_impairment
For moderate impairment (CrCl 30-60 mL/min), initial dose 25 mg once daily. For severe impairment (CrCl <30 mL/min), not recommended or use with extreme caution.
How to Take
Take orally, once daily, with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew.
Mechanism of Action
Iragon selectively blocks the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, found in many tissues, including vascular smooth muscle and the adrenal gland. This inhibits the vasoconstrictor and aldosterone-secreting effects of angiotensin II, leading to vasodilation and reduced blood pressure.
Pharmacokinetics

Excretion
Mainly through feces via biliary excretion, with a small portion excreted in urine.
