KTM 10 mg Tablet contains Cetirizine Hydrochloride, a potent second-generation antihistamine. It is primarily used to relieve symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, chronic idiopathic urticaria, and other allergic conditions.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
10 mg once daily, preferably in the evening.
Elderly
Initial dose 5 mg once daily, adjusted based on renal function.
Renal_impairment
Creatinine clearance 31-60 mL/min: 5 mg once daily. Creatinine clearance <31 mL/min: 5 mg every other day. Hemodialysis patients: Not recommended.
How to Take
Should be taken orally with or without food. Can be taken as a single dose in the evening.
Mechanism of Action
Cetirizine selectively antagonizes peripheral H1-receptors, thereby inhibiting the effects of histamine which include vasodilation, increased vascular permeability, and itching.

Mainly via urine (about 70% as unchanged drug) and to a lesser extent via feces.

Approximately 8-10 hours in adults
