Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Adults and adolescents 12 years and older: 5 mg once daily in the evening.
Elderly
Dosage adjustment may be necessary in elderly patients with impaired renal function.
Renal_impairment
Mild renal impairment: 2.5 mg once daily. Moderate renal impairment: 2.5 mg every other day. Severe renal impairment: Contraindicated.
How to Take
Levotiz 5 mg Tablet should be taken orally with or without food, preferably in the evening. Swallow the tablet whole with water.

Levocetirizine is a potent, selective, peripheral H1-receptor antagonist. It blocks the action of histamine, a natural substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms, thereby alleviating itching, sneezing, watery eyes, and runny nose.

Drug Interactions
Alcohol

Ritonavir
May increase plasma concentration of levocetirizine.
CNS Depressants
Concurrent use with other CNS depressants (e.g., sedatives, tranquilizers) may increase the risk of CNS depression.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, below 30°C. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
Overdose
Symptoms may include drowsiness in adults and agitation or restlessness followed by drowsiness in children. Treatment is symptomatic and supportive. Gastric lavage and activated charcoal may be considered shortly after ingestion.
