Description
Overview of the medicine
Lofam 100 mg tablet contains Lofepramine, a tricyclic antidepressant used to treat depressive illnesses. It works by increasing the levels of certain natural substances in the brain that are necessary for mental balance.
Uses & Indications

Initially 70 mg daily in divided doses, gradually increased up to 140-210 mg daily in divided doses. Maintenance dose is usually 70-140 mg daily.

Renal_impairment
No specific dose adjustment guidelines; use with caution.
How to Take
Taken orally, usually once or twice daily, with or without food.
Mechanism of Action
Lofepramine acts by inhibiting the reuptake of norepinephrine and serotonin in the central nervous system, thereby increasing their concentrations in the synaptic cleft. This leads to an antidepressant effect.
