Description
Overview of the medicine
Lulikill-1 Cream contains Luliconazole 1%, an antifungal medication used to treat various fungal skin infections such as tinea pedis, tinea cruris, and tinea corporis.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Apply a thin layer to the affected area and surrounding skin once daily. For Tinea cruris or Tinea corporis, treat for 1 week. For Tinea pedis, treat for 2 weeks.
Elderly
No specific dosage adjustment required for elderly patients as systemic absorption is minimal.
Renal_impairment
No dosage adjustment required for renal impairment as systemic absorption is minimal.
How to Take
For topical dermatological use only. Clean and dry the affected area before application. Apply a thin layer of cream to cover the entire affected area and surrounding skin. Wash hands thoroughly after applying the cream.
Mechanism of Action
Luliconazole works by inhibiting the biosynthesis of ergosterol, a key component of fungal cell membranes. This leads to increased permeability and leakage of cellular contents, ultimately resulting in fungal cell death.
Pharmacokinetics
Onset
Clinical improvement often seen within 1-2 weeks of treatment, with complete resolution varying by infection type.
Excretion
Primarily local elimination; any systemically absorbed drug is likely eliminated via urine and feces as metabolites.
Half life
Not well-defined for topical application; systemic half-life in plasma is approximately 125 hours, but not clinically relevant for topical use.
Absorption
Minimal systemic absorption through intact skin. Peak plasma concentrations are very low and occur approximately 21 hours post-application.
Metabolism
Likely metabolized in the skin to inactive metabolites. Any absorbed drug undergoes extensive systemic metabolism, primarily via oxidation.
Side Effects
Contraindications
- •Hypersensitivity to luliconazole or any component of the cream.
Drug Interactions
Storage
Store below 30°C, protected from light and moisture. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
Overdose
Topical overdose is unlikely to cause systemic toxicity due to minimal absorption. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately. Symptomatic and supportive measures should be employed.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Use during pregnancy only if clearly needed and the potential benefits outweigh the potential risks to the fetus. It is not known whether luliconazole is excreted in human milk; use with caution in nursing mothers and consult a doctor.
