How to Take
Place the cuff snugly around the upper arm, position the stethoscope over the brachial artery, inflate the cuff to occlude blood flow, then slowly deflate while listening for Korotkoff sounds to determine systolic and diastolic pressures.
Mechanism of Action
The device works by temporarily occluding arterial blood flow in the arm using an inflatable cuff, then slowly releasing the pressure. A stethoscope is used to listen for Korotkoff sounds, indicating the systolic and diastolic blood pressure readings as pressure in the cuff decreases.
