Description
Overview of the medicine
Moov 1W Gel is a fast-acting topical pain relief gel formulated with a blend of active ingredients including Methyl Salicylate, Menthol, Turpentine Oil, and Eucalyptus Oil. It is designed to provide relief from musculoskeletal pain such as muscle pain, joint pain, sprains, strains, and back pain by delivering a warming and cooling sensation.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Apply 3-4 times a day, gently massage a thin layer onto the affected area. Do not rub vigorously.
Elderly
Same as adult dosage. Use with caution if skin is very fragile.
Renal_impairment
No dosage adjustment required as systemic absorption is minimal.
How to Take
For external use only. Apply a small amount to the affected area and gently massage until absorbed. Wash hands thoroughly before and after application.
Mechanism of Action
The active ingredients in Moov 1W Gel work synergistically as counterirritants. Methyl Salicylate and Menthol provide a cooling and warming sensation that distracts from pain. Methyl Salicylate also has mild analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. Turpentine Oil and Eucalyptus Oil enhance the rubefacient effect, increasing blood flow to the applied area and providing further pain relief.
Pharmacokinetics
Onset
Rapid, typically within minutes of application.
Excretion
Not significant systemically; primarily removed through local tissue processes and evaporation.
Half life
Not clinically significant for topical application due to minimal systemic absorption.
Absorption
Minimal systemic absorption through topical application. Primarily acts locally on the skin.
Metabolism
Minimal systemic metabolism. Local metabolism on the skin is possible but not well-documented for overall drug disposition.
Side Effects
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to any component of the gel
- Broken or irritated skin
- Open wounds
- Around the eyes or mucous membranes
- Children under 2 years of age (consult a doctor)
Drug Interactions
Anticoagulants (e.g., Warfarin)
Although systemic absorption is minimal, theoretical risk of increased bleeding with large quantities/prolonged use of methyl salicylate. Consult doctor if on anticoagulants.
Storage
Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from direct sunlight and moisture. Do not freeze.
Overdose
Accidental ingestion or excessive topical application may lead to localized skin irritation (redness, burning). In case of accidental ingestion, seek medical attention immediately. Symptomatic treatment is usually sufficient.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Consult a doctor before use if pregnant or breastfeeding. While systemic absorption is minimal, caution is advised.
