How to Take

Mechanism of Action
Mydlamol works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, particularly COX-1 and COX-2, which are responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins, mediators of pain, inflammation, and fever.

- Hypersensitivity to Mydlamol or other NSAIDs (e.g., aspirin, ibuprofen)
- Active peptic ulcer or gastrointestinal bleeding
- Severe renal or hepatic impairment
- Severe heart failure
- Third trimester of pregnancy
Drug Interactions
Lithium
Mydlamol may increase plasma lithium levels, leading to toxicity.
Diuretics and ACE inhibitors
Reduced diuretic and antihypertensive effects, increased risk of renal impairment.
Anticoagulants (e.g., Warfarin)
Increased risk of bleeding.
Other NSAIDs or corticosteroids
Increased risk of gastrointestinal side effects including ulcers and bleeding.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place below 30°C. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach and sight of children.

Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, lethargy, dizziness, headache, and gastrointestinal bleeding. In severe cases, acute renal failure, hepatic dysfunction, hypotension, respiratory depression, and coma may occur. Management involves symptomatic and supportive care. Gastric lavage or activated charcoal may be considered within 1 hour of ingestion in significant overdose.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Avoid Mydlamol during the third trimester of pregnancy due to potential risks to the fetus, particularly premature closure of the ductus arteriosus. Use with caution during the first and second trimesters and during lactation, only if clearly needed and under strict medical supervision.
