Description
Overview of the medicine
Nafgal Eye Drop is a combination medication containing Naphazoline Hydrochloride, a sympathomimetic amine, and Chlorpheniramine Maleate, an antihistamine. It is used to relieve redness, itching, and congestion associated with allergic conjunctivitis and minor eye irritations.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
1-2 drops in the affected eye(s) up to 4 times a day, or as directed by physician. Do not use for more than 3-4 consecutive days.
Elderly
Same as adult dosage. Use with caution due to potential systemic effects in elderly.
Renal_impairment

How to Take
For ophthalmic use only. Tilt head back, pull down lower eyelid to create a pouch, and instill drops. Close eye gently for a few seconds. Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface.
Mechanism of Action
Naphazoline acts as a vasoconstrictor, reducing redness by constricting conjunctival blood vessels. Chlorpheniramine Maleate is an antihistamine that blocks H1 receptors, thereby reducing itching and allergic symptoms.

Excretion
Primarily through local metabolism and minimal systemic excretion via kidneys if absorbed
Half life
Not well characterized for ocular use due to minimal systemic absorption
