Description
Overview of the medicine
Nazosol-09 Nasal Drop is used for the relief of nasal congestion caused by colds, allergies, and sinusitis. Xylometazoline acts as a decongestant, while Sodium Chloride helps to moisten the nasal passages and clear mucus.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
For adults and children over 12 years: 2-3 drops of 0.1% solution into each nostril 2-3 times daily, as needed. Do not use for more than 3-5 consecutive days.
Elderly
Same as adults, use with caution.
Renal_impairment
No specific dosage adjustment is generally required due to minimal systemic absorption.
How to Take
For nasal use only. Blow nose gently before use. Tilt head back, apply drops into each nostril, and keep head tilted for a few moments to allow the drops to spread.
Mechanism of Action
Xylometazoline is an alpha-adrenergic agonist that causes vasoconstriction of the nasal blood vessels, leading to a reduction in swelling and congestion of the nasal mucosa. Sodium Chloride helps to rehydrate the nasal passages and facilitate mucociliary clearance.
Pharmacokinetics

Excretion

Metabolism
Any systemically absorbed xylometazoline is metabolized by the liver.
