Neumir 5 mg Tablet contains Desloratadine, a non-drowsy antihistamine used to relieve allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes, and hives. It provides 24-hour relief without causing significant drowsiness.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
The recommended dose is 5 mg (one tablet) once daily, with or without food.
Elderly
No dosage adjustment is generally needed for elderly patients with normal renal and hepatic function.
Renal_impairment
For patients with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance < 30 mL/min), a reduced frequency of 5 mg every other day is recommended.
How to Take
Neumir 5 mg Tablet should be taken orally, with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew.
Mechanism of Action
Desloratadine is a long-acting tricyclic antihistamine with selective peripheral H1-receptor antagonist activity. It inhibits histamine release from mast cells and also inhibits the expression of adhesion molecules on endothelial cells, thereby reducing allergic inflammation.
