Take orally with a glass of water, with or without food. Complete the full course of medication even if symptoms improve to prevent recurrence and resistance.

Novadin inhibits the biosynthesis of the bacterial cell wall by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), leading to the interruption of peptidoglycan synthesis. This results in osmotic instability and lysis of the bacterial cell.

• •Known hypersensitivity to Novadin or other beta-lactam antibiotics (e.g., penicillins, cephalosporins)

Store in a cool, dry place below 30°C, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and central nervous system excitation (convulsions at very high doses). Treatment is symptomatic and supportive. Gastric lavage or activated charcoal may be considered. Hemodialysis may be effective in removing the drug from the bloodstream.

Pregnancy Category B. Studies in animals have shown no evidence of harm to the fetus, but adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women are lacking. Use only if clearly needed. Excreted in breast milk in small amounts; use with caution during lactation and monitor infant for gastrointestinal disturbances.
